What's Ahead for the Palestinian Fatah?
Ph.D. Conflict Analysis and Resolution , George Mason University

Leaders of the Palestinian political party Fatah have been meeting in Ramallah this week.
The first thing they did was re-elect Mahmoud Abbas as their leader, solidifying his decade-long hold on power.
This is Fatah's first party conference since 2009.
It is supposed to be held every four years, but critics say the event has been repeatedly postponed because of divisions within the party. And they say Abbas's re-election shows that his opponents have been silenced.
How will a divided Palestinian leadership tackle worsening economic and political challenges?
