Alex Cromwell is a Ph.D. candidate and Youth Programs Manager at the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at GMU, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at New Century College. He is also the Co-Director of the Indonesia-U.S. Youth Leadership Program, which brings Indonesian high school students to the United States and American high school students to Indonesia for a conflict resolution, social justice, and leadership education program. He is committed to creating positive social change through peacebuilding and developing sustainable relationships across conflict boundaries and has over ten years of experience working with youth and exchange programs. He spent the last few years working at the Center for World Religions, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution (CRDC) at GMU on projects focused on Iran and Afghanistan, and CRDC’s overseas experiential education program, which brings students to conflict zones in the Middle East, Balkans, and Southeast Asia. During this time, he also worked with the Benjamin Franklin Summer Institute with South and Central Asia, which brought 45 high school students to Mason’s Fairfax campus for a one-month long conflict resolution program. He holds an M.S. in Conflict Resolution and a B.A. in Psychology, both from GMU.
