CRDC is having an Open House!
Wednesday September 12, from 7:30pm until 9:30pm in Room 555 of the Truland Building
Come join the Center for World Religions, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution to hear about the projects that we are doing and the Overseas Classes that we will be running next semester! This will be a great opportunity to meet and hear from the professors who will be teaching the courses, and ask any questions that you may have. It will also be a great opportunity to hear from students who have attended these courses in the past. If you are interested in the work that CRDC is doing or the classes that we will be running, come find out more about them and see how you can possibly get involved!
Students will get the opportunity to hear from professors from the following courses:
- January 2013 (3 credits of CONF 620 or CONF 695): Ten days of Reflective Practice in Israel/Palestine with Dr. Marc Gopin, director of CRDC and an ordained Rabbi with 27 years of experience in the region, engaging with local peacebuilders in their work across the conflict divide (Price: $3,690, credits included)
- March 2013 (CONF 695--3 credits): Ten days in Turkey working with Syrian activists and refugees with Dr. Gopin, building off of a seven year intervention in Syria focused on integrating conflict resolution with methods of nonviolent social change (Price: TBD)
- May 2013 (3 credits of CONF 695): Ten days in Serbia and Croatia with Borislava Manojlovic studying the post-conflict politics of history and memory in the Balkans region, (estimated price: $3,995, credits included)
- June-July 2013 (6 credits: 3 credits of CONF 812/610 or CONF 695 and 3 credits of CONF 727): One month in Java, Indonesia focused on the intersection of culture and conflict where students received hands on locally engaged field experience from Dr. Leslie Dwyer, an S-CAR professor with 17 years of experience with the local population (estimated price: $4,995, credits included)
