Informal Interactive Dialogue on the Role of Regional and Sub-regional Arrangements in Implementing the Responsibility to Protect

George Mason University's School of Conflict Analysis and Resolution has been collaborating with the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region to help create sustainable and institutional mechanisms for the prevention of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. The combined work seeks to advance the implementation of early warning and response systems by raising awareness of local and international actors to create regional machinery for the prevention of mass atrocities. Through collaboration in research and fundraising strategies for programs to prevent genocide, regional and international cooperation can empower all those working toward peaceful coexistence.
