Professor Andrea Bartoli. Professor Bartoli is trained as an anthropologist and now teaching at George Mason University, he has strong academic credentials but is also a seasoned practitioner in the field; he is also a national leader of the Sant'Egidio Community, one of the most vital efforts among Catholics worldwide to unite a deep spirituality with extensive social outreach. The 2011 lecture will be unique in the series in two ways.
1. The Werner Institute for Negotiation & Conflict Resolution and the Kenefick Chair in the Humanities will co-sponsor the lecture on Thursday evening
2. The Department of Sociology & Anthropology will host the Nebraska Undergraduate Sociology Symposium (NUSS) on November 10-11. Prof. Bartoli's lecture will serve as the NUSS keynote. Some 500 students are expected to attend.
