Course Description
Students will learn how to write opinion pieces for newspaper print and web publishing, learn television and radio interviewing skills, and learn how to create a web presence. The course if very hands-on and very practical. The course will use a Media Training Manual, published by the instructor, to improve students’ media analysis and conflict mapping skills as the prerequisite for writing and interviewing for the media. Students should come prepared to read, watch and track the news and offer practical ways in which violent conflicts can be prevented, managed, transformed and resolved.
