The Latin American and Caribbean Work Group (LACWG) is delighted to welcome the incoming M.S. and Ph.D. class! As you begin this new adventure, we would like to wholeheartedly invite you to consider joining our work group.
What do we do?
During the past several years, we have engaged in a wide variety of activities, both educational and practical. We hosted film screenings, dialogues, brown-bag discussions, and even an open mic night! This semester, our activities will be focused on environmental conflicts stemming from resource extraction, and climate change experienced in the region.
How does a work group work?
We have a rotational leadership system. This fall, Catherine Ammen, Drustva Delgadillo and Harbey Peña Sandoval are leading the group. Former ICAR Prof. Christopher Mitchell and PhD candidate Adriana Salcedo are our group advisors. Our goal is to meet twice a week, particularly during the early months of the semester. Join us for our first meeting (Date TBA) and help us execute projects for this semester and beyond!
