Biography

Talha Kose graduated from the FEAS Political Science and International Relations Department of Boğaziçi University in 2000. In 2002 he graduated with an MA degree from FASS Conflict Analysis and Resolution Program at Sabancı University with the thesis titled "Islamic Mediation in Turkey: Third Party Roles of Alims in the Resolution of Communal Conflicts." Kose received his PhD from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University upon completion of his doctoral thesis titled, “Re-Negotiating Alevi Identity: Conflict and Cooperation Narratives and the Constitution of New Alevi Identity.” He worked as a graduate research assistant at Sabancı University and George Mason University. He has also been involved in various conflict resolution projects related to the Cyprus Issue and the Palestine-Israel conflict and has partaken in a number of inter-religious dialogue initiatives. His areas of interest are conflict analysis, ethnic and religious conflicts, mediation and alternative dispute resolution techniques, cultural and political violence, Chechen Issue, and Palestine-Israel conflict. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations at Sehir University, Istanbul.
