Presenting: Dr. Oliver Moles, recently adjunct faculty and visiting fellow, ICAR
Ollie will describe the Fairfax County Public Schools student mediation program and briefly review past studies of the program by ICAR students. Then he will present several studies he has organized to trace the impact of the annual peer mediation conferences on students in elementary, middle and high schools. He will invite discussion on how to improve such studies. Dr. Moles, a social psychologist and education researcher, is a specialist in youth development and disruptive behavior, and family involvement in their children’s education. He had a long career in the research office of the U.S. Department of Education. Since then he has worked with the Social Science Research Group, LLC on evaluation studies. He has served as an ICAR representative on the steering committee for the annual FCPS student mediation conferences since 2003.
