Joseph Sebarenzi, is the former President of Rwandan Parliament and the survivor of 1994 Rwandan Genocide. Suffering personal losses and witnessing tragedies of his country made him to become a strong advocate for peace and reconciliation.

In 2000 he resigned Parliament and fled Rwanda because he feared assassination. He emerged as an independent politician who denounced abuses and emphasized the role of independent Parliament for the oversight of government actions.

He is the author of the book “God Sleeps in Rwanda: A Journey of Transformation” published in 2009.
