The magnitude of the phenomenon of “internal displacement” is large-scale and spreads across the globe with 24.5 million people currently in displacement. The displacement of over 250,000 Hindu “Pundits” has been identified by scholars as the key factor that has ruptured the very fabric of the Kashmir Valley. This exploratory study aims to acquire a systematic understanding of the process of policy making, positions and perspectives of policy-makers, implementing bodies, host community and those displaced from the Kashmir Valley. This understanding can provide better insights into the likely conflicts that arise from such a process and point to ideal conflict resolution mechanisms.
