Reception to follow

On January 19, 1992, the government of El Salvador signed a UN-brokered peace agreement with the Farabundo Marti Movement for National Liberation (FMLN), ending a bloody 12-year civil war. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the signing of peace accords—considered a model of conflict resolution around the world—the Latin American Studies Program at George Mason University has convened a panel of experts to discuss the legacy of this historic moment and assess progress and challenges in El Salvador today.
