April 2, 2013 12:00pm through 2:00pm
Join the Center for Peacemaking Practice in welcoming
for a discussion on applying the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES) to inter-religious and religious-secular dialogues.
The Daily Spiritual Experience Scale, created by Dr. Underwood, is being used in many studies to investigate ordinary spiritual experiences, such as awe, gratitude, deep inner peace and giving and receiving compassionate love, and their role in daily life. Originally developed for use in health studies, the scale has been used in counseling, addiction treatment settings, and religious organizations. The scale has been translated into over thirty languages including Hindi, Hebrew and Arabic, and has been effectively used in many cultures.
Dr. Underwood will join the S-CAR community to discuss possibilities for the use of the DSES in inter-religious and religious-secular dialogues.
