OVERVIEW: Around the world students of conflict resolution (CR) and international development (ID) are playing critical roles in effectuating change and development. Student leaders and groups have been able to achieve these results because of their ability to adapt to dynamic social, political, and technological change. The objectives of this conference are to:
- Connect Washington metropolitan area student leaders and groups with each other, practitioners in the field & local non-governmental organizations NGO’s;
- Create the space for student leaders and groups to share the methods used, lessons learned & challenges faced in their efforts to effect positive change;
- Build and foster best practices for operating as an effective student group or organization; &
- Facilitate the growth of the complementary relationship between the CR & ID communities.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM: The conference will include plenary sessions focused on student leadership in the fields of CR and ID. Presenters will make brief introductions and facilitate a content-based dialogue. Following the plenary sessions, there will be a forum during which organizations can share their current and future projects in order to coordinate and foster inter-organizational participation.
