Michael Ignatieff's admission of error on the Iraq war in a widely discussed recent New York Times Magazine essay tells us more about Mr. Ignatieff's political ambitions than it clarifies the art of political judgment. Michael Ignatieff does a disservice to his fellow academics by claiming that his misjudgment in supporting the U.S. invasion of Iraq was because "good judgment in politics looks different from good judgment in intellectual life. Theory gets in the way."
