Abstract
This essay aims to offer insight into what comprises CR and to outline some unique challenges confronting the field. The paper argues tht the eclectic nature of hte field and the lack of core competencies are the two factors that accentuate these challenges. Accordingly, the following section presents basic assumptions that make it distinct from other fields. The paper then lists it main characteristics by highlighting the related challenges that CR scholars and pratitioners face.
