Silvia Susnjic
Silvia Susnjic is Director of Research for DI in Afghanistan. She has more than 10 years of professional experience as a research analyst, monitoring and evaluation expert, and development consultant. Before joining DI, Dr. Susnjic worked as an analyst for IDS International, where she conducted assessments for the U.S. government project in Afghanistan. Previously, as Research Director at Wise Strategic Communication in Afghanistan, she supervised 640 staff members and was responsible for project oversight and execution of 44 qualitative and quantitative research assessments throughout Afghanistan. Dr. Susnjic has also worked as Acting Director/Assistant Professor of Social Science Statistic at the Eastern Caribbean Center at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Dr. Susnjic’s international professional experience also includes Bosnia, Croatia, Nepal, Serbia, and Sri Lanka. She has extensive experience running nationwide household surveys and public opinion polls and in overseeing related core activities ranging from sampling methodologies and data collection to data processing and data analysis. She is proficient in qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodology approaches and data analyses utilizing software such as SPSS, STATA, SAS, CS Pro, Atlas ti.6. Dr. Susnjic holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and an M.A. in in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. In addition to her native Croatian, she is fluent in English and Italian, conversational in Spanish, and has a working knowledge of French and German.
