Florindo Chivucute
Florindo Chivucute is the Founder & CEO of Friends of Angola (FoA) - a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt advocacy organization based in Washington, DC.
He earned a Master's degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and is interested in globalization, international development and international politics, with an emphasis on U.S. - Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).
Since the formation of FoA (April 2014), he has led the design and implementation of three projects: An online radio station (Radio Angola) and two projects based on theory of change (ToC) to strengthen the capacity of civil society in Angola, in particularly the youth, to promote nonviolent civic engagement by using new and existing technologies. These projects were funded by The National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
In addition to his work experience with civil society in Angola, Florindonhas also worked as an Education Support Specialist II and International Student Advisor/DSO at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and as an International Student Adviser at Pennsylvania State University
