Moderating a session for Israeli and Palestinian politicians at the Capitol Hill : 20-year anniversary of the Oslo Accords and the ten-year anniversary of the Geneva Accords.
J Street and the Geneva Initiative present a discussion on the 20-year anniversary of the Oslo Accords and the ten-year anniversary of the Geneva Accords—a model Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement developed by the negotiators who nearly completed an agreement at Taba in 2001. We will examine the genesis and historical context of the Geneva Initiative and its implications for today’s peace process. What lessons do Geneva and Oslo hold for the current push for a two-state solution? Are they still relevant today given the changing realities on the ground and current public opinion in Israel and the Palestinian territory?
