How do African American & Cambodian communities recovery from trauma? What are the cultural mechanisms that facilitate trauma healing in both communities? For this brown bag, Keith Singleton will discuss how communities in Cambodia and African American communities in the United States cope with past trauma. In the context of structural violence and mass violence. Discovering how to better engage in trauma healing at the grassroots level of any community.
Biography
Keith holds a Bachelor’s of Art degree in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science in Conflict Analysis & Resolution from George Mason University. Prior to joining GPP, Keith served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco where he engaged in projects on Youth Development and Conflict Prevention. His area of doctoral research is focused on genocide prevention.
